Drypoint is a form of etching where the image is created by drawing directly onto the plate with an etching needle. Since no acid is needed, the metal isn't dissolved as on an etched plate, but is thrown up on each side of the line, creating a thicker, soft line. This wears down with each successive print, hence the small edition.

I've left ink or polished it off in areas to create the tone - this is the painterly mono printing part of the process. The plate is inked and pulled through an etching press for every print in the edition.
